How Toowoomba Jeweller, Ryley Jewellery Creations, Made the Move to Kwong Sang Walk a Sparkling Success
It feels like an eternity since we announced that we would moving from our tiny 40sq metre space in The Chronicle Arcade, in Margaret St, Toowoomba. However, on 4 December, 2021, we opened the doors to our long awaited and much anticipated state-of-the-art manufacturing studio and showroom in the luxurious Kwong Sang Walk in the centre of the Toowoomba CBD.
We have always been very proud to call Toowoomba our home and it was important for us to find a location that represented us as not only individuals but as artists as well. We looked at multiple street frontage sites in the Toowoomba CBD, however the bespoke architecture and serene nature of Kwong Sang Walk drew us in to where Ryley Jewellery Creations now calls home.
Together with WJT Builders we have come up with a space that is both beautiful and functional on so many levels (two levels in fact!).
Our lower floor features our high-end showroom which displays some of our most stunning jewellery designs including our custom designed diamond engagement rings, aquamarine, sapphire, citrine and amethyst statement dress rings, and a beautiful display of coloured Argyle Diamonds from the Kimberley and other loose precious gemstones.
Our manufacturing studio can, at capacity, comfortably fit up to 7 operational workbenches and is fitted out with the latest state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and tools. Our open plan design allows our clients to witness jewellery creations be manufactured before their eyes.
As you glide up our custom designed staircase you are greeted with our whiskey and champagne bar, where you are welcome to sit and relax in our leather lounge suite with a glass of your favourite guilty pleasure while we chat about your Ryley Creation. The mezzanine level also features our “Creative Hub”, where any of our staff can draw, design or even just take 10 to regather their creative juices!
All in all the space is almost 4 times the size of our previous location!
That leads us to our opening night! Oh, what a night! The weather looked ominous the entire week leading up to Saturday night. But Saturday presented with fine weather up until the final hour when, in typical Toowoomba form, the wind from a storm front threatened the plans of our outdoor cocktail event. However, the wind passed, and we dropped the curtain to “Feeling Good” after a brilliant performance from the team at DanceForce, revealing our beautiful jewellery store that we worked so hard to bring to life to a crowd of over 100 attendees.
Both the building project and the opening night were a complete success! However, we could not have done it with out some very talented and very generous people! Our team, Michael Busiko, Janessa Lawson, Tiona Pemberton and Lara Quinton AND your families! The days leading up to the opening meant all hands on deck, but we didn’t expect our team to call in their parents to help! So, thank you! Words cannot describe our gratitude. Special mention to Councillor Rebecca Von-Hoff for representing the Toowoomba Regional Council at our event, Annielyn Images for your (as always) stunning professional photography, Kehan Ryley for your production work and DanceForce for your exceptional performance.
The team at WJT Builders put in a tremendous amount of work into our project. The project itself came with many challenges but we’re so grateful to have gone on this wild ride with you! People have asked us if we would build through you again… We most certainly would - especially after you and Kenneth rescued the photo op backdrop from getting blown away!
Finally, there are a select few people among our family, friends and mentors in life to whom we can’t thank enough for your ongoing support, encouragement and gentle (sometimes forceful) guidance. You are our tribe, and your words have more of an impact than you know. Thank you!
So how was our move to Kwong Sang Walk deemed a success? It is extremely fulfilling and gratifying knowing where we have come from since 2013 with little more than a few loose gemstones and some second hand tools, to what is now one of the most well known quality and bespoke Toowoomba jewellers. Our artistic flair and bespoke craftsmanship now attracts clients from not just Toowoomba, but from all over Australia and across the globe! With commitment, focus and determination, success is what you make of it, and this incredible milestone for Ryley Jewellery Creations is simply the start of a new chapter in our success.
What’s next for Ryley Jewellery Creations? We have plans… You’ll just have to watch this space! If you don’t already subscribe to our newsletter, you can do so here!
Christel’s dress on our opening night was from Smoke & Mirrors, make-up by Luminosa, and hair by The Mixx.

Sparkling best wishes to you all for 2022!
